Marbled-Green Leuconycta - Leuconycta lepidula

Marbled-Green Leuconycta - Leuconycta lepidula
Town of Baileys Harbor, Hidden Corners Sanctuary, Door County, Wisconsin, USA
August 13, 2001
Larva eating Water Hemlock (Cicuta maculata). While I reared it, it went into the host plant watering container several times and appeared to drown each time. When I hauled it out, it revived. I'm thinking that possibly it would pupate in the water in the wild. Formed pupa August 15, 2001. Overwintered in cold fruit cellar. Adult eclosed May 3, 2002. Released.
