Explanation of Names
Specific epithet as a comparison to Walker's moth which has "the ground color of the forewings ... largely white, or white bluish grey, so that the male resembles C. relicta in this respect." (1)
Size
Wingspan 65-75 mm. (8)
Range
Nova Scotia south to Maine; west across Canada to British Columbia, and southward in the mountains. (8)
Lectotype male: Grimsby, Ontario (Mr. Pettit). (1), (9)
Food
Larval hosts are balsam poplar (Populus balsamifera, quaking aspen (Populus tremuloides and willow (Salix). (10)
