JGY_7154 - Two-striped Planthopper Nymph - Acanalonia bivittata
Proud Lake Recreation Area, Oakland County, Michigan, USA
July 10, 2010
Size: Tiny, tiny 1/8" or less
I could barely see this thing and at first I thought it was some kind of "crab-type" spider but now when I blow up the image, I still can't tell. (I can crop it even more if need be.) It has big PINK eyes! I don't think I've ever seen anything like it but then again, it's so small, it's a wonder ANYBODY would ever notice it. If it hadn't been a "white thing" on a BIG brown plant, it would have gone unnoticed. So...does anyone have a clue? I sure don't. Thanks again. (Also, I'm sorry it isn't sharper - it was tough trying to get depth of field.)

It's a leafhopper nymph. So cute.

You people are GOOD! Wow! I
You people are GOOD! Wow! I wished I knew 1% of what you knew. Thanks so much. (Pickin's were slim for this morning's shoot, and I photographed another critter and again, I'm not sure what it is. I have to resize and I'll be sending it in.)
