Tibicen pronotalis
This species of annual cicada, T. pronotalis, is one of the largest and loudest in the eastern US.

They are most common along the Mississippi Riv. and associated tributaries, but can be found in isolates in nw. FL, w. GA across the mid-South west to the eastern regions of the Great Plains.
