delray beach, palm beach County, Florida, USA
July 11, 2010
i have seen this twice crawling at night around my door outside. i know its part of the millipede family but i have never seen one like this before. i dont know if its the same one that i saw 2 months ago, or if there are alot in my area, but he is pretty cool. i have named him gorge lol. i would love to know what gorge is, is he poisonous? is he friendly? what dose he eat. is he a common species in my area? i dont want to touch him, i would just love to learn about him.

Millipede
You are correct, it is a millipede. I doubt it's dangerous, since there are no warning colors.
