Spider Wasp Excavating - Podalonia - female

Spider Wasp Excavating - Podalonia - Female
Hurricane Hill, Olympic National Park, Clallam County, Washington, USA
July 10, 2010
This image is from a study of this wasp excavating a burrow.

I've seen these wasps patrolling the ground many times this season and previously.
I also have video (with audio) of the excavation.
