Brown phase--this genus has green and brown color phases. Came to light, chilled, posed, and released. This is a brown morph of length approx. 62 mm, including wings (update--about 45 mm to base of abdomen). This is a female. On another photograph, now included in this series, I can just see the ovipositor poking up under the wings from the tip of the abdomen.

This is Neoconocephalus velox, which has the correct configuration of cone, the correct size, and the correct seasonality--active in early summer. See SINA. Also compare N. robustus. (Thanks for confirmation--see comments.)
