Weevil - Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus

Weevil - Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus
Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA
July 18, 2010
Size: ~4 mm
At a light.

ID
Lissorhoptrus [definitely] almost certainly oryzophilus Kuschel. To ID with certainty a male is needed and the apex of the hind tibia examined in lateral view, to see the shape of the apical outer mucrone (a specialized complex set of teeth, or a simple curved tooth) which is different in each male and the same in all females.
I am 98% certain that his is a female oryzophilus. Excellent photo.
