Spring Azure - May 6, 2004 - Celastrina lucia
South of Ottawa, Grendville, Ontario, Canada
May 5, 2004
Tony Thomas requested that I post some of my Celastrina photos here so I decided to start from the begining. I hope its ok to do a mass dump of a number of photos in one night...been super buisy this week and this is the first time I had to post any.

This one was probably my first butterfly photo on my digital camera (Cannon A80, 4 MP). It was my first butterfly of the season too. Taken in Grendville Country, south of Ottawa, Ontario. It fluttered around the back yard for a bit, then landed on the lainway and I got some shots then it flew over the house and by the time I ran around to the other side I lost it.

I've identified it as Spring Azure - Celastrina Ladon Lucia by using the Butterflies of Canada book but I am far from an expert at IDing the Azures and IDing it took me hours I think, so any comments are apreciated.

Thanks for posting
all the Celastrina images; challenge now is to ID them!

I just hope someone is up to
I just hope someone is up to the chalange! :) I'll be really glad for the info. I've done what I could for most but still find it a frustrating group at times.

Dr David Wright
was kind enough to ID all your images, this one is C. lucia

Sent my very much thanks to Dr Wright!
I have noted the ID's and will make the changes to my photo names and records. Thanks for the help!
