Hardwood Stump Borer - Mallodon dasystomus - Male
Hwy 55 and Sedwick, Durham County, North Carolina, USA

Size: 45 mm
Found at light. Chilled, posed, and released. Hairy mandibles show this is a male. Length of this individual (abdomen to tip of mandibles) was 45 mm. This is one robust beetle!
