Triorla interrupta. nice catch.

Triorla interrupta.
Thank you! I liked the shot, I thought it was a good "action" shot. Does this species have a common name other than Robber Fly?

Moved
Moved from ID Request. Please add a shot of the whole fly if you have one.

So what is the species, can it be pegged down?
I have one of the whole fly but it is slightly blurry.

Don't know yet
I don't know the species. I moved the photos to the robber flies page so the experts in the family will see them and comment. With robber flies and Syrphidae, at least, posting directly to family page is as good as posting to ID request. We're still in the middle of revising posting guidelines to say so.

Species name of robber fly
Ok, thank you, that is good to know.
