Elderberry Borer - Desmocerus palliatus

Elderberry Borer - Desmocerus palliatus
Loogootee, Martin County, Indiana, USA
July 7, 2005
Size: 1.00''
I found this specimen on its host plant, Elderberry. I had this specimen at the Indiana State Fair last year, and I was approached by a Purdue University grad. wanting to know where to find one. He told me that he had never seen one in Indiana, but in the surrounding states. Are they more difficult to find in my state??
