C. albescens - Stictocephala albescens

C. albescens - Stictocephala albescens
Shelburne, Chittenden County, Vermont, USA
July 25, 2010
Landed on me from above, and I managed to get just one photo before it launched powerfully off me. After browsing the guide, it looks like it's in the genus Ceresa, but not sure what species. It looks a bit like C. albescens or C. diceros. I've never seen one like it before, very cool!

Ceresa albescens
Like C. diceros, but the front of the crest is less hairy, and the dark band reaches to the summit of the crest.

Thank You!
Thanks so much for the ID. It's so great to have experts willing to help, and I look forward to browsing your online Cicada guide in the near future!
