Spiderlings Hatching - i just luuuuuuuv nature!

G'day all.

Don't know how many of you have actually seen spiderlings hatch - i never did. I've seen them ALREADY hatched, but not the actual hatch itself.

Around august last year, in my garage, there was a typical house spider that was there for about 2 years - they dont much last longer than that. And she laid a few batches of eggs, i'd say maybe 3 or 4 actually gave way to spiderlings.

Every day after work, i'd check up on her to see if the eggs hatched knowing i'd want to record it. And one day i saw some activity and a hole facing me in the egg sac. the spiderlings were coming out of the hole. i guess they "chew" their way out? i have no idea how that happens.

so i got some simultaneous still shots, put em together like a movie and it was great. the spiderlings even reacted to my flash as some would raise up their front legs almost as in defense/attack mode.

but alas, i misplaced the file! i'll probably never get to see that moment again but i was definitley humbled and in awe.

i love nature.

Sorry about our loss
maybe the file will turn up someday.
