Edrotes -
Edrotes ventricosus
Death Valley, Inyo County, California, USA
December 22, 2005
Found that nice beetle running around late December. It looks like an Edrotes, but maybe somebody can make a species ID or correct my generic placement.

Edit
Corrected your location data so it doesn't say "Death Valley County"

In that genus
It certainly does look like next of kin to the species already posted. I tried a google image search, coming up with nothing for Edrotes. It seems to take google several months to catch up with postings here.

Edrotes/Google Images
Yes, on Google's site they mention somewhere how image cataloging is much slower than text cataloging. (The latter is updated very rapidly--I've seen it catch BugGuide pages in Recent within a day.)
So sometimes it is better to find images with a text search, for instance, a couple of images of Edrotes (leechi and ventricosus) from
Arizona
(linked from that page). E. ventricosus looks pretty close?
Nearctica.com
lists 4 spp. in genus.
This collection
lists E. ventricosus from California, Idaho, etc.

Looks like match.
It's probably OK to move to genus. Thanks for the Arizona link, Patrick. I hope they'll be able to complete their tenebrionid images.
