caterpillar - Paectes abrostoloides

caterpillar - Paectes abrostoloides
Meadowwood BLM, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
July 30, 2010
Size: approx 1 inch

Moved

We would suggest that this is one of the Paectes
Wagner lists four species on page 376. It may be that the size is enough to ID this as abrostoloides, but we don't know. Did you notice any of the plants nearby? That might also help.

Probably Paectes abrostoloides.
This guy was on a fence post. Plenty of sweetgum in the area. Probably no shortage of poison ivy either, but I don't recall any in the immediate area.
