Lance-tipped Darner? - Aeshna constricta - male

Lance-tipped Darner? - Aeshna constricta - Male
Crystal Lake, McHenry County, Illinois, USA
August 1, 2010
Size: Under 3 inches
This dragonfly perched close to the ground, and circled near the woodland's edge.

Indeed!
This is an image of a different individual than the other image you provided, so the images were unlinked. Nice shots!

Thanks!
I hadn't spotted this species here before, and wasn't sure whether a bunch of them had appeared, or just a single lonely creature. Had to follow it (them) back and forth for a half hour just to get a couple of shots.
