This one was near the coast, about 50 miles from my house. I was on a trail in the woods, and saw it on top of some low vegetation, and used the net to catch it. Do you want me to save this one for you, or should I just let it go?

Hmmm, I find it interesting that this species is almost always collected dispersing to the next microhabitat rather than actually on decaying fungi/carrion where it presumably develops. I'd say that we should let this one live, as the photo ID is safe and south of Canada this is a 'common' species. Also, may I use this photo for the key? Despite its apparent abundance, no one has yet been able to capture as well as you have,
