#4369 Identification -- Ululodes quadripunctatus (female)
This is the owlfly Ululodes quadripunctatus (Burmeister, 1839). The name "Ululodes quadrimaculatus", while a synonym of U. quadripunctatus, is incorrect under the rules of nomeclature.

Only one correction needed
The Latin binomial is put into each photo caption based on the field entries in the guide structure--a correction to a scientific name need be noted only once. I just went in and changed this in the guide page for the species and it automatically propagates to the photo captions.

I appreciate your comments--we've needed a neuroptera expert to help out here for a long time. I've learned a lot, but am often shooting in the dark!
