beetle-like mite - Carabodes

beetle-like mite - Carabodes
Hudson, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
Size: less than 0.5 mm
I've been fooled before into thinking these slow-moving, solidly-built mites were tiny, tiny beetles. Found today on rotting fungus I collected Jan. 13 in Hudson, NH and have kept indoors since then.
