looks like
it could be Yehl Skipper (Poanes yehl), but Broad-winged (Poanes viator) has a similar mark ("direction arrow") in the hindwing. both frequent similar habitats. did you happen to get a pic of the upperside of the wings?

 
looks like
No photo of upper wing side. It was either in motion or had its wings folded. Although there were more blackeyed susans in the bed, it was interested only in cone flowers, if that mmeans anything.
