Fly - Musca autumnalis

Fly - Musca autumnalis
Henryetta, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, USA

Size: aprox. 8mm

Fly
Thanks to both of you.
I was curious because it looked like a house fly but I had never seen those colors before.

Musca autumnalis
Nice shot of this close relative of the housefly, just a bit stouter and more brightly colored. Species name is due to the habit of overwintering as an adult, often in wooden buildings - hence most commonly seen during fall.

Moved to guide
We needed this one, I have been waiting for it because it is one of the introduced species and we didn't have a single image.
