Dragonfly - Tramea lacerata

Dragonfly - Tramea lacerata
Evansville, Indiana, USA
August 7, 2010
Size: large
This dragonfly has a really fat body area. When it flies by, it always looks like it has a double body or something. It has taken me three years to get a photo of it. Now I want to know what it is!

Tramea lacerata, Black Saddlebags
dark face and black saddlebags in the wings point to this species

Moved from ID Request.

Is it possible...
the fat body area is just a large dark spot on the wings. Check out Black Saddlebags.
