Frenchman's Forest Natural Area, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA June 23, 2004
I suspect this is a female, from the comparison photos on University of Florida's website. She was also on an Acacia tree like the male I photographed last year:
Note the ridges in the stem, those are scars from inserting eggs. This weakens the branch and shows the damage these insects can cause.
