Hiding bug - Lasiomerus annulatus

Hiding bug - Lasiomerus annulatus
Newport News, Virginia, USA
June 25, 2004
I found this bug hiding under a dead leaf on a tree in my back yard. Any ideas?

Lasiomerus annulatus
Moved from Damsel Bugs.

Agree with Bug Eric
Its a Nabid, alright.

Assassin Bug
Looks like an assassin bug to me. I can see the beak curving beneath it's head.

Nabid?
Can't see enough of the insect to tell conclusively, but I'd nominate a damsel bug (family Nabidae) as a potential identity. Something predaceous in any event:-)
