This caterpillar was on the leaf of a cone flower about a foot of the ground. It did not seem to be eating the leaf. Any help with an ID will be appreciated.

Bob thanks for the help. Silvery Checkerspots are common in my flower garden. It is good to know what the caterpillar looks like.
