Can you tell me, is this a short-wing grasshopper of some kind? I don't see one that seems to be exactly like it in the bugguide. Thank you for your help. Much appreciated.

Date problem

It looks like this is a recurring problem- I've seen it on several of your pictures. My guess is that your camera inclues date information in the image files, but either it has that wrong or the system is garbling it when it reads it.

I would suggest viewing the image after you post it and editing it to correct the date. I'd change it for you, but I don't know the correct dates
