Moved
Moved from Hogna.

You're brave!
I have been observing big wolf spiders all my life and I'm still scared to pick them up.

Wolf Spider
Did it bite you?

No bites yet!
I haven't been bitten by any of the spiders I've picked up. This guy was running around on the grass, so I just put my hand down in front of it and lifted it up when he got on. I had to repeat that a few times until he got tired enough to stay on my hand.

Moving to Hogna page.
I think it is relatively safe to move these to the genus page, and am doing so now. Nice images showing they are friendly spiders:-)

You know....
my husband does that to get spiders out of the house. The other day he picked one up that I thought at first glance was a yellow sac spider (Cheiracanthium mildei can give a nasty bite). Just be wary of the yellow ones :).
