Just Plain Cool. - Bittacomorpha clavipes
Magnetic Lake, Cook County, Minnesota, USA
August 1, 2010
This showed up in our boat, so location is slightly estimated. It's really neat, but no idea what it is since I've never seen one before.

Very cool!
I see these in certain boggy areas around my home. They fly with their legs extended out, and they appear to float on the breeze thanks to their flared ankles. They can be a bit of a challenge to photograph. Nice shot!

Nice! Bittacomorpha
