Cathartosilvanus sp ? - Trogoxylon parallelipipedum - female

Cathartosilvanus sp ? - Trogoxylon parallelipipedum - Female
Leesburg, Lee County, Georgia, USA
May 4, 2010
Size: 3.86mm
Light trap. Predominantly Pecan and Oaks, w/Maple and Pear. Neighbor has a 3-acre tree
dump site w/in 100 meters of the light. Keyed out in (1) to Cathartosilvanus,
and the closest in the Guide is C. imbellis. This and a smaller specimen collected 2 days
later do not have any points on the anterior/lateral pronotum, but they do have a more
prominent ant club. Suggestions/comments most welcome.
