Antlion Adult - Myrmeleon

Antlion Adult - Myrmeleon
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA
June 19, 2004
This photo was taken at the Frenchman's Forest Natural Area. This appears to be a different species than the one I encountered at the Jupiter Ridge Natural Area:

Frenchman's is more lush, woody, and dense, whereas Jupiter Ridge is more open palmetto scrub and sugar sand (it's right on the coast). Perhaps the habitat is a key to identifying these two species...

Hi John,

I've added a larger image of this shot and an additional dorsal view in hopes that it may help in identifying it to species. Lemme know what you think.
