Lettered Sphinx? -
Deidamia inscriptum
Venice, Sarasota County, Florida, USA
March 7, 2006
I have lightened the photo quite a bit. The only light I had at 3am was from the computer moniter. When I found it on the bathroom floor the tail was bent up towards the ceiling.

7871 -- Lettered Sphinx Moth -- Deidamia inscripta
... I never thought of moving the computer to the bathroom to attract moths. Maybe it's worth a try :-))
