dusty looking flat bodied bug - Reduvius personatus

dusty looking flat bodied bug - Reduvius personatus
Oshawa, Durham, Ontario, Canada
August 18, 2010
Size: aprox. 15cm long
This bug was found on a pair of pants hanging in the closet. I have found one like this before, but I did not look too closely at it as I thought it was covered in diatomaceous earth, which we regularly spread throughout the house as part of a house treatment for fleas. The body is surprisingly flat, and it moved with the intelligence of a spider. pretty creepy!

we did in December. There are no more fleas, but we continue with the DE as a preventative for fleas, and other bugs.
