Black Swallowtail - Papilio polyxenes - male

Black Swallowtail - Papilio polyxenes - Male
Linton, Greene County, Indiana, USA
August 20, 2010
Photo taken in the same area as the Painted Lady. This one would not hold still for long! Is the Black Swallowtail and Eastern Black Swallowtail sub-species of the same butterfly? Is this a Black Swallowtail? PS - Just FYI - I am a birder, but have really gotten into butterflies, moths and dragonflies!

Black Swallowtail (male)
Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes)
Black Swallowtail and Eastern Black Swallowtail are just two different names for exactly the same species, not different sub-species.
