Soil Mite - Euzetes

Size: 1mm
Found about 12 of these bunched up together under a rock. Not sure what this is, a beetle or a bug.

"best shot" is Euzetes sp.

Oribatid Mite (Acari)
Although most of these beetle-like mites are still smaller than 1 mm, this eight-legged (two posterior "knees" are just visible bottom left) tiny animal belongs to this group of Arachnnids.

Thanks for the id Richard. I looked up Oribatid mites, and found they are very numerous, and one of the major contributors to breaking down leaf litter.

You seem to know a bit about mites. Have you any Internet recommendations for mite ID? We have a bunch of mites and little in the way of taxanomic structure.
