Mallow Scrub Hairstreak? - Strymon istapa - male

Mallow Scrub Hairstreak? - Strymon istapa - Male
Bahia Honda State Park, Monroe County, Florida, USA
March 3, 2006
I found a record for Strymon columella from the same location, Bahia Honda. So the bug appears there. But the spots on the upper wings are much more prominent than for images in North American Butterflies.

I think you are right to call this Mallow Scrub Hairstreak
- Butterflies through Binoculars(1) has a very similar picture of the underside (no upper shown so I can't address that question). Yours also has the tricolor (orange, red & black) tailspot described as common on FL ones.
We have this species as Strymon istapa.
