Actenodes sp.
Actenodes - beautiful shot. Two spp. in Florida. Very similar to Chrysobothris, but (visible from your photo!);
Tarsomere 3 prolonged on each side into a long, divergent spine that extends beyond tarsomere 4

Joshua can put a sp. name on this.

Hey Scott where did you find that beautiful specimen?

Luck
Every once in a while I get luck. This insect is quite small. I was collecting ivy for my stick insects and happened to see this on a leaf. If must have fallen from a live oak tree in my backyard. I brought it in for a photo shoot. He cooperated wonderfully. I have since found two others maybe the same and maybe different. I have to key them or photograph them as well. One of them is a bit damaged. I found them on my deck in a depressed area only about 25 ft. from the other capture, both sites in my backyard under the oak.

If you capture any more let me know, i am very interested. It is indeed quit a rare find I think
