Furry beetle eating sunflowers--Euphoria? - Euphoria inda

Furry beetle eating sunflowers--Euphoria? - Euphoria inda
2 miles S. of Santa Fe, Santa Fe County, New Mexico, USA
August 29, 2010
Size: 1 cm long?
Brought to me by friends whose sunflower flowers these beetles are destroying. It's on a sunflower head. My friends don't remember seeing these beetles before, but they planted a lot more sunflowers this year.

Sorry, no pictures of the head. It got away (fast direct flight) and is probably eating my sunflowers.

Moved from ID Request.

Thanks to both for the ID. These aren't good pictures, but I'm leaving them since they're the first pictures here from New Mexico. As usual, I'd have no objection if someone frassed them.
