Tiny Wasp, Ceraphronidae? - Gryon

Tiny Wasp, Ceraphronidae? - Gryon
Hopkins Gap, Little North Mountain, Rockingham County, Virginia, USA
September 5, 2010
Size: ~1 mm
This tiny wasp was hunting on a long bladed grass in an overgrown field. It encountered a mite which did not seem to interest it much. Looks kind of like Ceraphronidae just based on BugGuide images and comments.

Gryon sp. --det. István Mikó
Moved from Ceraphronidae.

Yes…
Similar to platygastrids, but the antennal configuration is different. Many attack the larvae of gnats, craneflies, etc. Mites are definitely not on their list.
