Great shots Aaron!
I'm not sure where this one belongs yet.

Glad you like 'em
You're the one that got me so enamored of these guys :-) I'll be interested in hearing alternatives to E. cf. timberlakei.

PS: I just posted a tristis-like series from Del Norte Co.

What is the flower?
Looks like Swertia

Native Morning-Glory
It's the somewhat shrubby Calystegia longipes...see 1st image in series for more info.

Okay,
I've never collected Eulonchus from them up there. This would make the third species of Eulonchus seen on the mountain. You're probably right about the species, but I would need to see the specimen to be sure. Its definitely in that subgroup within the genus, but there are more undescribed species in the hills around the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. I know that Ev's "E. timberlakei" is found in the Greenhorn Mtns. and along the Kern River in Kern County, so Piute Mtn. wouldn't be a stretch. The prominent ocellar tubercle is typical of the group.
