Reddish-brown Stag Beetle - Lucanus capreolus - Male

I rescued this individual from a spider's web on the outside of my living room window. (This is exactly the same place I found the species several years ago.) This individual was chilled and posed, but was very uninterested in moving, even after warming up. It adopted this defensive posture and froze in place.
