Anise Swallowtail
The photos I submitted are the "gothica" form of P. zelicaon nitra. Anise Swallowtail. Opler's top right photo might be the gothica form but the photo doesn't show the orange-ish eye with the centered black pupil very well. He shows the "nitra" form in the bottom photo. As I understand it, the butterfly was first named P. zelicaon nitra, so the gothica form was named P. zelicaon nitra, gothica form. The darker butterfly depicted in his bottom photos were named P. zelicaon nitra, form nitra.

Even though these are supposedly common, I think they are uncommonly beautiful.

I couldn't find the place in the guide to place these.

definitely is quite beautiful. As for the nitra, gothica etc. I can't tell the difference between one and the other! I'll try to create the proper guide page for you. Let me know if it's wrong. :)
