A mating pair of Spiny Oakworm Moths - Anisota senatoria - male - female

A mating pair of Spiny Oakworm Moths - Anisota senatoria - Male Female
Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, USA
September 9, 2010
This female Spiny Oakworm Moth stayed in place on our back door for two days. Her mate arrived on day three! This was my first sighting of these particular moths, and it was also "a first" for me to witness a mating pair! Pretty cool! The two moths remained here, as such, for the entire day, and only moved to the brick wall (nearby) at sundown. I retired at 11 PM. These two were nowhere to be found the next morning!
