Moved
Moved from Funnel-Web Spiders.

Moved on the basis of the large, circular embolus visible in the palp. This is a feature of the genus. Nice pictures!

Moved
Moved from ID Request. We haven't been as successful sorting these to species level, but I think if you could provide a close-up of this male's palps, we may be able to get an expert to ID this one eventually.

Male Funnel Web Weaver?
The prominent spinnerets and pedipalps hint me that this is a male Funnel Web Weaver. Harmless and beneficial. Might be looking for a mate. Perhaps he would like to be released outside in heavy brush or near an old building?

Thanks, I will free him next
Thanks, I will free him next time I see him.
Best regards

He has been freed
I released the spider to the outdoors yesterday in some brush on the edge of the field and near a raised bed, too.
