George - Larinioides cornutus

George - Larinioides cornutus
Willoughby, Lake County, Ohio, USA
September 15, 2010
Size: About as big as a nickle
This guy that we've dubbed George has been vacationing outside of our bedroom window all summer. Thought at first that he was a marbled orb weaver but as I look at more pictures of them I'm not sure.

Moved
Moved from ID Request. I'm pretty sure it's Furrow Orbweaver (Larinioides cornutus). It's harmless.

George
Thank you very much! He has supplied me with great entertainment over the summer.

Sand
That would have to be "George Sand", then.

Ah..ha
I had to google it, but I get it now. George Sand sounds like a very interesting lady & good for her for not wearing those stupid dresses.

Looks to be an Orb Weaver
in the genus Larinioides. Lynette may tell you more.
