Collected from sand/gravel beach by the river; ID made via comparison w/ UBC collection.

This species fits the description of Zorochros, with the double, margined prosternal sutures. Also, Wells (1996) published a key to Nearctic Negastrius and did not include this species.

Probably outdated taxonomy
the specimens at the UBC collection were labeled as 'Negastrius caurinus'.
