Beetle with LONG antennea (sp?) - Orthosoma brunneum

Beetle with LONG antennea (sp?) - Orthosoma brunneum
Silsbee, within the Big Thicket, Hardin County, Texas, USA
September 6, 2010
Size: approx 2 inches
This beetle was about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long.
He was a very grumpy bug.
Will someone please tell me what kind of beetle he is?
Thank you,
T

Orthosoma brunneum, a common longhorn
Terri, pls make sure your photos are cropped tightly to leave out useless background (like i did on this image) -- this will dramatically improve your chances for a reliable ID

Thank you for the advice.
I don't have the software on my computer to do that but I am trying harder to get closer when I take the pictures - just adds to the "blurr-factor" sometimes.....
Thanks again - always appreciate advice!

Root borer?
I think... The one I found was more black but was also grumpy and bit me hard! It made me bleed!

Root Borer
Yes! This one tried very hard to bite me but I held him by his body when I handled him so he couldn't get those pinchers on me!
With some bugs, I've learned the hard way that they do NOT like to be picked up - LOL!
Thanks Sean!
: )
