Flat-footed Fly - Grossoseta pacifica - male

Flat-footed Fly - Grossoseta pacifica - Male
Two Lakes Park, Seward, Alaska, USA
August 20, 2010
Size: 2.8 mm
Grossoseta pacifica (Kessel). This West Coast species is characterized by wing venation (dm-cu present, M1+2 branched, cup longer than A1), medial acrostichal bristles and a strong anteroventral bristle near the base of the male fore femur(1).

Question about Grossoseta pacifica
So I came across pictures of G. pacifica at this website (https://www.zoology.ubc.ca/~biodiv/entomology_archive/Diptera/Platypezidae/) and they do not look like this. Is this a male/female disparity or are one othese sources incorrect?

UBC is incorrect
It seems that UBC is wrong on this one, the wing diagrams present in the original description of this species match the photos on Bugguide and the drawings in Manual of Nearctic Diptera but not the UBC specimen. Here is a link I found to the original paper: https://digitalcollections.usfca.edu/digital/collection/p15129coll11/id/517 (Needs to be downloaded to see the diagram)

Moved
Moved from Flat-footed Flies. Thank you Stephen for adding so many flies lately.
