Size: about 1.5 inch
Just from looking at photos my best guess is Estigmene acrea, but I am not knowledgeable enough about moths to be certain.

Salt marsh tiger moth
Just found one of these on my front screen door. Should they be this far north (Ottawa Canada) and in the city?
