Size: 1/4-1/2 inch or so
What kind of spider is this? Are those eggs in the picture too?
UPDATE: image cropped closer to spider (with "eggs" removed, since someone mentioned it's probably just a shed exoskeleton)

I ran into the web
I found this spider up by the gutter because I was turning the corner around my house and ran into the web. It startled me so much that I fell backwards to the ground. I read on Wikipedia they might rebuild their webs every day???

it's an Orb Weaver
maybe something like this Spotted Orbweaver - Neoscona crucifera
The other object kind of looks like a shed exoskeleton. It would help if you posted bigger versions, or tighter crops of both the spider and the other object.
